I see the MSI 670 has been in stock for a few days now. it has got higher clocks than stock but is a single fan and its at the 399 price. Would it be worth getting it instead of waiting for the Gigabyte Windforce to come back in stock.

I've got two in sli. No problems thus far. Only dabbled with the overclocking on it. I'll be trying to overclock and test this weekend though.

Fan on it is quieter than my case fans. I've got an antec 900v2. When im gaming I use a headset so I don't notice when the fans spin up.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the card. Especially if not overclocking. Mine are more than enough at stock so I think I'll leave them for now

I have one - the only model available in the UK is the OC model.
There have been no issues so far.
The 100% setting is quite noisy [in my opinion] - but through any game or application putting the card to load, the card will never ramp up that high in the fan speed.
So, all in all, I have been very happy so far.

Plus, MSI's 'Live Update 5' software will fetch new BIOS updates for you card (if that is any interest to you).

saratoga172: 2 MSI GTX 670s in SLI don't need to be overclocked! They are UBER fast stock. Heavens, what is your 3dMark11 score?

They are. I'm playing on a Dell u3011 at 2560x1600 res however so it can be pretty taxing. Still get over 80 in everything.

I ran 3dmark11 basic edition yesterday at performance setting. Got 16xxx something on the graphics part. I'll have to rerun and post it up.

I wasn't impressed with the fan noise even at idle on the MSI 670...that little fan makes some crazy noise even just doing some normal web browsing. My 7970 was much quieter in that regard. I'm sure there are better options as far as fans go (you mentioned the windforce), so I'd definitely look elsewhere. The card is fast as hell, but the noise just bothered me to no end. When gaming, the 7970 is louder, but I don't mind the noise when gaming...I know there is going to be more because I'm pushing the cards. But the stock fan at stock speeds in windows is a deal breaker to me. I returned my MSI 670 obviously.

I am having good luck with mine. The box was corrected to say display port properly. Its quiet at idle and it performs excellent. This was to replace my evga 670 and overall I am happy with the quality. Boost clock goes to 1097mhz at default. Id have to say that MSI restored my faith in the reference cards.

I've gone to Logitech G35 headphones on 2 of my rigs. Sound is terrific and the fans are not heard.
