MSI 6600GT Problem

Been running an MSI Pci-e 6600GT on a 8KNF-9 w/3000+ and all was cool for 3 weeks or so.

Today suddenly there are lines all through the XP desktop screen

Entering Bios, display graphics are clear, Win XP statup screen is perfect. Once Win Desktop is displayed it looks quite Fubar.

Display itself is OK, I swapped it with another PC.

I have 2 other pc's but they are AGP so swapping out the card to isolate it from the MB is out.

Any Ideas ?

Thanks

Maybe try swapping out your PSU in case its not beefy enough.

I'm on my second MSI 6600GT AGP, and this one ran OK for a couple weeks, and now my windows desktop usually crashes within 10 minutes, even in 2D. I put my old Ti4200 back in and the system is solid as a rock. Put the 6600GT back in and its only stable for a short time.

I'm lucky - I have 3 other systems in my basement I can test it out in. That's what I'll be doing this week...

PSU is 480Watts 2x12v rails, card gets power from pci-e bus, but trying a different PSU is an easy swap, thanks , at least I rule that out.

At idle the system draws only 130watts, as indicated by a Kill-A-Watt Meter
