MSI 6600 GT heatsink problem~

I just ordered a MSI 6600 GT from www.overclockers.co.uk...

I didn't know about the MSI's heatsink issue... LINK

Has any1 here got the PCI express MSI 6600GT? any heatsink / overheating problems?

I'm quite upset about ordering something with such a flaw, and all attempts to contact OCuK is useless!! :disgust:

Any comments about this MSI would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I posted most of this stuff in the other thread but I'll give a bit more detail. I read that review and still purchased the MSI anyway, just because I've had good luck with their products before. There was no problem with my HSF mounting. I think a lot of the boards in that review got a bad rap. I would like to see how an MSI without that issue would stand up against those other boards. I've had mine OC'd to 565/1140 with no problems. Temps hit about 62 on the high end (after a substantial amount of HL2 or Farcry). Make sure you get the farcry 1.3 patch if you're going to play that with a 6600gt. The overclocking numbers are not a max either. I've gone a little higher and its been fine, but I'm more comfortable dropping it down a bit to be on the safe side. So I guess I recommend doing what I did and just check out the card when you get it and go from there. Worked out well for me...
 
was about to ask about this as well. got agreat deal on an MSI card so i couldn't pass it up, was hoping those review boards just had early manufacturing issues.
