I am hoping that someone on the forum has had this prob before and can give me a prescription for eliminating this problem. My computer locks up almost every time it is booted up after no particular time. I hit ctrl-alt-del and "end task" when it shows MSGSRV32 not responding". Sometimes it endtask sometimes it does not. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks Oldsmoboat, I will try this solution. Unfortunately, this happens more when the computer is NOT idle. I will give it a try anyway ...

I used to get this alot...so I switched to Win2k...hasn't been a problem since. I don't use power management, though.

go into msconfig and click on selective startup click on startup and uncheck everything that has anything to do with power management click ok and reboot.]
