Msconfig In Win2k Server

I actually called microsoft and asked that very question when win2k was first released...they said that win2k does not have a command similar to msconfig. You can regedit / sysedit / etc. If you are looking to pull a few things out of windows startup you can go to:
my comp. \ win2k \ documents&settings \ all users \ start menu \ programs \ start up.
The next step is to run regedit & go to:
local machine / software / microsoft / windows / current version / run...you will find most of the startup applications in this folder. I always export a registry file (to a folder I create ie..c:\regbak) before deleting it, just in case I want it back later.

hope this helps maybe a little

do you have a dual boot system ie..winME & win2k?
If so the boot.ini is located on your WinMe partition in the root directory.
Since I haven't messed with XP very much I have no clue what you are talking about as far as the msconfig command in XP.
good luck

yeh well I am dual booting Win2k and WinXP but i just reinstalled Win2k and when the operating system selection thingy comes up when I am restating and I select WinXP it leads me to a dead end

I know you have probably tried this & it might sound just tooo simple, bordering on lame, but did you do a search (find files or folders) from xp or 2k ?

I don't know if this will help, but here is my boot.ini You can substitute appropriate o.s. descriptions & partitions for your config. That is if you ever find your correct boot.ini file.

[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="WIN 2K" /fastdetect
C:\ = "WIN ME"
