mscal.ocx not registering

I was installing Visual Studio 6.0 (on NT Server 4.0 SP6 with Office 2000) and at the end where it says "updating your system" it gives a message that mscal.ocx cannot be registered and then that setup failed. Yet everything I've tried works except the components option in Visual Basic, where it gives a hexadecimal error. Any suggestions?
