Im after a SSD and found an mSata version?

Now can I buy this and use it like a traditional 2.5" ssd?

That adapter is clearly smaller than a 2.5" drive, so you wouldn't be able to mount it in any standard 2.5" mounting solution. Other than that, it should work just fine, just like the hundreds of alternatives out there.
 
Why go through the adapter, and not just get a native SATA solution instead?
That is an excellent question. I'd understand it if the OP had the drive from before, say, from a laptop. For this to make sense, that SSD has to be one hell of a deal.
