MS Word Table Margin Help

I was working on this 100+ page document and wanted to paste something from an SEC filing online. I copied the text I wanted to insert, went to the Word document and hit Alt+E and then I thought S (to paste special), but maybe my fingers slipped and hit a key in that general area. Bottom line, the document immediately closed (and I'm not sure whether it saved). When I reopened it, the margins for the columns in EVERY table in the document shifted way over to the right.

I really have no clue how to undo this since it doesn't seem to be a style issue. As soon as I open the document, the tables look fine, but then, say 10 seconds later, the table margins change. I hope I explained this adequately, but it looks like Word is applying some sort of formatting change. I'm not sure what to try to fix this and it's really frustrating. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

i just tried adding columns to the tables and the screwy margins follow through. now i think it's something messed up with the default settings
