I can set up Word 2000 to view parts of a document in 2 different panes, one above, one below, is there any way to make it so they are side by side, rather than one on top of the other?

I know that in Excel that if you click just above or below the side scroll area (above/below the two arrows respectively) you can split the pane vertically. I don't know about in Word, and I can't test it as I don't have MS Office on my home computer.

Damn, looks like it might be possible. I can work it on Excel, but Word doesn't have the same option on the side scroll bar :(
Oh well, might have to struggle on with vertical split.

Yeah, I tried it, but it only gives how to do vertical split, so it seems there is no horizontal split :(

1. Open document.
2. Click Window--New Window
3. Ctrl+left-click second window in taskbar.
4. Right-click one of the windows in the taskbar, choose "Tile Vertically"

All that does is make 2 instances of the same document. I'm pretty sure that any editing you do in one of the documents will not appear in the other.
