MS word question - sorry :)

I want to protect one page in the a document, page 1.

I want this page to be unedittable, can I do this, and how?

all other pages can be edittable though

It doesn't look possible in Word97 unless you try using a form. They appear to be the only thing that are independently adjustable for protection. But I just found this looking for help myself, so I'm no expert. Hopefully the newer versions have something.

Try a section break after the first page

Insert->Break...then pick a type of section break.

Go to Tools->Protect document. Then pick forms, and then you can check/uncheck sections that you want protected by clicking on the sections button. So you'd probably leave Section 1 checked, and uncheck section 2.

Hope this helps.

That was a great answer SQL, thank you. If you have a moment, I'll bet you can easily answer my post asking about a summary in Word.
