ms update stopped java script, cannot reply to pms, etc.

installed the march and february updates for internet explorer and windows,

now cannot answer pms, cannot post a complaint at the newsgroup at microsoft.com,
when I click the reply or post bottoms I just get a weird noise, and a window opens on the task
bar for a few seconds but I cannot access it, and then it goes away.

I do not want a new full install of windows 2k pro, any java gurus that can fix these microsoft a$$holes problem?

have you tried repair msie?
control panel > add/remove program > msie > repair msie

for that popup windows that opens on taskbar, use ctrl+spacebar, then m, then move it a bit with your keypad, then move it with your mouse.... see what's there.....

which msie version is it, btw?

I have JavaScript disabled all the time and I can PM just fine.

it was the latest security patch that is supposed to fix a java security hole, it would not repair so I have removed it, but this is on my server and I would have to reboot to get it to work (and rebooting would sever the connections and be death to counterstrike 🙂 ), I have just abandoned internet explorer and gone to opera for now,
