MS update killed USB ports on Monitor

I don't know if this is in the right place, but here goes. I pulled a known boo-boo and installed dirvers from MS update.

HX2LP Kit (3.03.0000.2)

As far as I know it killed the USB ports on my monitor and thats it. The rest of them work fine including 2 on my keyboard.

I have went to control panel to uninstall and can't find it. Search didn't find it (I will keep digging in this area. I also uninstalled it from Device Manager and rebooted. That just reinstalled it. Also the button to roll back is greyed out.

Thanks for the help.

i found the culprit several places. C:/windows/System32 Drivers & DriversStore (CYUSB.sys). Unfortunately It will not let me delete any of the files that it belongs to. I need permission. I did get the actual dirver deleted. Rebooted and It's right back. Thing is it is a signed driver. So much for MS quality control. Any one got any ideas?

Try this: Boot into Safe Mode (F8 repeatedly on power up) until you see the Safe Boot option
Then go into Device Manager and Delete the drivers for the USB (all of them)
Reboot and windows should reinstall the missing drivers ... Worst case, you may have to
download the motherboard chipset drivers from the mobo or computer maker and reinstall them.

Great I'll give that a try. Never thought of going to safe mode. Do you think I should also delete the drivers out of System32 folder. I think I found all of them in the dirver folder and DirverStore?

YESSSSS. I got my USB plugs back. Uninstalled from device manager. By the way just a word of caution. If all you have is USB devices ie keyboard and mouse, when you get to a certain point on the USB devices your done. LOL
