I don't know the right answers per say, but this survey was for IT people who deal with small businesses or less. And I believe if you keep the answers consistent with that you should be okay. Also, make sure when it asks if you deal with the customer's directly, say yes. I think the first time through I said I was the CEO and I also got the thanks but no thanks message.

Actually I would still do the survey anyways. You later get an email from Intrepid that sends you your login/password to the IT Council where you conduct the research homework. If you fail to log in after a certain period of time, they stated in another email that they will deactivate your account. This is what happened to me. So unless you only want what is available now and don't care for Windows 7 later then be my guest.

In my email it said you should get the survey email within 24 hours and you have another 24 hours to register, if you don't your subscription is lost.
If your not interested in windows 7 this may still work for you since all you need is a few min to get 10 keys for every type of OS, office, and random MS tool to your hearts desire. As far as I know the keys are valid forever so once you get them your golden.
Personally I am interested in what the surveys say as well as the "homework" they talk about. Plus I actually do debug quite a few networks for friends and family so having access to these tools is kinda nice.
ALERT! On Friday we sent out details of a referral program for the UK ITAC and UK TechNet Plus pilot program members. We've had a great response, but need to restate that the offer only is good for UK-based technical support professionals. Thanks!

I actually logged in via the UK link. I attempted to create an account using the US link, but they were asking for tax forms and the like, so I skipped it. We'll have to see how it goes. I have a feeling they'll easily be able to weed out those who aren't legit. Some of the HW responses are already pretty suspect/hilarious.

The homework is pretty easy. They make you post your answers on a blog and the first 3 assignments are something like:
1) Write bout the survey, what was good/bad. Suggestions.
2) Something about how to better serve your customers and what is the greatest obstacle to this.
3) Something about you have an HP computer running vista and it has an error code. How would you go about fixing this.

You'll get your homework once you are emailed your IT Council username and login. Then you goto the technet CS section and they have the homework assignment posted. You are expected to goto the site regularly and if you want to be extra helpful you can participate in blog discussions and such. If I remember correctly, it took like 2-3 days before I got my email for the IT council website.
When did you get your home work?

I just signed up for this and got the free subscription. There's an update about it on Ars though that it's only for three months. I hope Windows 7 RTM is downloadable by then.
