I have the OEM version of MS STreets & Trips 2002 preloaded onto my harddrive, but to run the program I always am prompted to insert the "Run" original CDROM for the application. I have tried copying the full "Run" CD to my hard drive, but the application will not open from that folder without the CD inserted. Is there any way to bypass the requirement of the CD insertion and run the program from the hard drive?

During install did it ask you if you wanted to Run All From my pc??? If not, then I guess you can try something like a DAEMON CD tool, where it can emulate a cdrom drive so then you can create the cd into an ISO image, then just load it with the DEAMON tool. It will take up some space on your harddrive though.

It came preinstalled. I am reinstalling it now as part of the MS Works Suite, but it did not ask me if I wanted to run it from CD or Hard drive (Like many of the other MS apps do). I located a second disk that is a "setup disk" and will try copying that to my hard drive and reinstalling the program from that directory.

If you are comfortable in the registry you may be able to find the key that points it to your cd drive and change it to your c drive into a particular folder. finding it is another story.

I will install it from my retail copy to get around this issue; the retail does allow installation to hard drive.
