Just got my new 2K machine running (2K noobie) and go to install the software for my Gamepad and it says no go for 2K, It says they still might work, but they didn't. This is the only downer to using 2k, I love it otherwise.

Why haven't M$ writen drivers for one of their OWN products to work with their OWN operating system?!

Peace.

Could be an issue with your DirectX drivers. My Sidewinder (the USB one) didn't work under Win2K either, but the Sidewinder with the game port plug did. Finally, I just purchased the Gravis Eliminator Game Pad Pro (USB) for $29 at Best Buy. No more problems... and no more MS Game Pad either.

The problem comes when you try to install drivers. Support for Sidewinder stuff is native to Win2k and no drivers are required. Use the latest DirectX version and give your device a try. Installing unneeded drivers meant for some other operating system doesn't help anything. Install the operating system, go to the Gaming Devices icon in Control Panel and try auto detect on Sidewinder devices and see what happens.

If I plug it in it appears in the Device manager with a yellow ! and doesn't show up in the Game Controllers section. I have tried the drivers on the Disc and the latest off their site, the latest ones say 'Will not install on your operating system'

I have the latest DX8

Anyone want a Sidewinder ;)
