I was in a discussion with my wife about Ms Pac-Man. The abbreviation Ms means the person could be married or unmarried and just doesn't want anyone to know. So
1) Ms Pacman could stand for Misses Pac-Man, it is her married name which she got from Pac-Man. Or
2) Ms Pacman could stand for Miss Pac-Man, meaning her name was Pac-Man before marriage.
There is a problem with each.
1) If it stands for Misses Pac-Man, then what was her name before they met? What if you are a horrible game player and you could never win the first level. You'd always wonder why this unmarried woman has a married title and name. It just wouldn't make any sense.
2) If it stands for Miss Pac-Man, then she has the last name of the person she marries. This could signal inbreeding. I guess that could explain their odd figures - a mouth almost as big as their entire body. But that leads to great moral decline - a game encouraging inbreeding. I don't think the programmers would have allowed that to occur.
So what do you think is the answer?
Ok I'm bored, thanks for reading to my silly post.
