MS Optical Wheel mouse and Logitech Software: Will it work?

I currently use a Logitech gaming mouse for most of my FPS games and a Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical for normal Windows use. The Logitech Optical is having some problems (stiff buttons, crappy wheel) and I want to replace it with a new MS Optical Wheelmouse (the new one shaped like the Optical without the side buttons). My question is, will the MS mouse work with the Logitech software? I've tried it before with an old Intellimouse and it worked okay, with the exception that sometimes it didn't register mouse button clicks. Maybe it was just a bad mouse, but I want to make sure first.

Is this the Logitech mouse that is shapped like the Mouseman wheel or the other cheaper model?

I use the Logitech driver on a wide variety, including a Microsoft Intellieye. Works fine for me.
