I just got a new MS optical mouse, and it can connect to both the USB port and PS2 port... I have heard that these 2 ports have different refresh rates, is that true? If so, which one has a higher refresh rate? Right now I have the mouse connected to the PS2 port...

I play some FPS games from time to time, so I wanna connect to the port with the higher refresh rate... thanks!
 
Also, the mouse came with a CD with IntelliPoint software... what the heck does that do? I don't wanna install it if it doesn't do much...
 
If you're running win98, install Intellipoint because it'll make the wheel and side buttons work in all programs. Win2k works fine without it, and ME probably does too. It also has different pointers, and let's you assign each button to whatever you want...
 
Well I am running win2k, so the wheel works perfectly fine without the software... but having the ability to assign buttons to whatever I want might be useful too... Anyways, thanks for all you guys' help and the quick reply! 🙂
