MS Office XP vs. MS Office 2003

Both are very similar. Outlook 2003 is superior to 2002, but there's very little difference between the other programs.

What MrChad said 😀

Outlook 2003 is great, but there's not a great deal of difference with the other programs.

As others have said, 2003 is better, obviously as it came out after XP, but in actual usage, I have yet to find a feature in 2003 that didn't exist in XP.

Office 2003 is actually nice.
It brings back speed, that was missing from Office XP.
Its basically, Office 2000 on steroids, and more up to the times..

what makes outlook 2003 better than outlook xp?

  • The interface is slicker (smarter organization of the Inbox, for instance)
  • It handles large PST files better
  • If you're using Windows XP and connecting to an Exchange 2003 server, you can connect over HTTPS (big plus for corporate road warriors)
  • It handles junk mail out-of-the-box

There are others I'm probably forgetting.

Open Office is better than any MS Office.

Can't believe only 1 other person mentioned it 😱

i disagree
other than the fact that open office is free.
I find MS office is much faster to load and close. also excel has better graphing abilities IMO. that is what i have noticed so far. there is no email client in open office is there?
