MS Office MCP Certifications...Anyone taken any of these?

While I try to find a more permanent job, I'm working for a staffing firm. They are offering MCP Certs for Access, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel for free. I figure I'll taken them all for the heck of it. Anyone taken these?? Any advice on how to prepare for the tests?

yeah, MCP (Microsuck Certified Professional) is just one test. MCSE (Microsuck Certified Systems Engineer) is 6 or 7 IIRC.

ms certs are worthless anyway..

I have to disagree with that statement. I have seen several job listings that require and MCSE just to be interviewed.

How worthless is that, without them you don't even have a chance at the job. It doesn't matter what kind of experience you have if they require it.

It may be useless, just not worthless.

I'm thinking he was joking... look at sig.

I got an MCP back in the NT 4 Server days. Never bothered to take any more of the tests.

Also have a CNE in Netware 3.12.. with that and $1.50, I can get a cup of coffee 😉

i've heard the MOS is not something to be taking lightly. just as hard if not harder than mcse tests like 70-216
