MS Office 2k does not work after installation of MS Project 2k

Hey,

I got a small problem, and I don't know why the hell it happens. Its just plain stupid!

First off, its a clean install.

Win2k and service pack 1.
MS Office 2k (typical installation)

works fine, no problems.

MS Project 2k (typical installation)

now after project installs, MS Office is broke..

Whats happens, no matter that I launch, Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint. They load up in 3 seconds, then after 5 seconds they just close (disappear).

I have even looked at the task manager, and I see Word for example, popup and then close properly.

If I un-install project, I still have the same problem.
However, if I remove MS Office 2k altogether, reboot and re-install it (typical installation.)

I am back to sqaure 1, MS Office working perfectly.

However when I install MS Project, boom!!

Can ne1 tell me why?

Oh, and before any says I have already tried installing the service pack before and after installation of MS Project. Still the same problems.!

Go find your real serial for your Office2K.

Thank you for the link!!

I thought I did have a valid serial, as my friend has the original packaging!! I have only recieved the CD'S so far.

I guess something is suspect here. I'll let him know!

is it a retail version? where'd he buy it from?
serials that start with GC6J3 have been blocked because of pirating.

He says he bought it from a shop, its now closed down though! :frown:

I've seen the packaging all looks legit!!

Doesn't matter now any how, work has gone and approved a budget purchasing MS Office 2K,
and I've a copy coming.

Just have to wait until I get a proper copy!
