MS Office 2003 Beta site is live...

Do we really need a new version of Office every year? I mean, I don't think I've used a single one of the "features" added after office 97....

If you're paying for every release of Office, I'd say no notfred, if MS gives it to you for free, then you'd have an interest in the latest release 🙂

as long as i can download it from kaza i don't care how often they creat a new version.

You may want to refrain from publically announcing how you obtain your software 😉

I got it in the mail with the other 14 discs in the beta pack

Yep, I got mine in too. There are some pretty color changes for the icons from Office 11 Beta to the Office 2003 Beta, but I haven't really noticed many functionaity differences yet. I guess it's mostly just bugfixes.

nobody is freaking forcing you to download or buy office, so quit whining people.

anyways has anybody installed this? i am still waiting for them to make it so that outlook automatically saves and retrieves stuff from some account so i can view my sh!t at school.

Good way to get yourself some free time away from the forums. Piracy is not condoned one bit here.

If I was a mod, that would be an invitation to try.

I mean who's stupid enough to walk into a place, announce all the illegal sh!t they do, then threaten the management?

I believe the XML document support was supposed to be the big thing. It would be really nice to save a document in XML, open it in OpenOffice and have it look exactly the same, but an article I saw recently said the beta's XML support removes virtually all the formatting and sh!t which makes it virtually useless for interoperability.

Thats not what we've seen, you can save true XML native versions of the docs. This isn't an 'export', its the new file format (althought they will obviously still open/save the older file formats too)
