MS Office 2003: Any way to filter 'Sent' messages?

All research that I have conducted has turned up nothing. Apparently there is no way to use the "Rules and Alerts" functionality of Office 2003 to "filter" outgoing e-mails to specific folders?

It works just fine for incoming e-mails, but for outgoing it just plain doesn't work. It will work the very first time, when I create the rule and it asks me if I want to apply the rule to the messages currently "in" the "sent items" folder. But then it doesn't work after that.

Did that make sense?

One more thing. I *did* find this page that allows me to send *all* of my "sent items" to a specified folder. Then I have to tell Outlook not "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder". Not sure if that would be part of the solution or not.

Please advise. Thanks.

Edit #1: I also found this link that explains that it has something to do with server-side vs client-side, but I'm just not getting it.

Edit #2: I'm trying to move the e-mails to a folder in my archives (.PST file), and apparently that may be significant, too
