oem - shipping is really reasonable if you buy more than 1. I bought 3 myself and shipping was only 5buxs so total was 65.

It's my favorite mouse 😉

I know there are prolly some deals for cheaper after rebates but this is pretty good if you are lazy about filling out rebate forms.

i heard that Microsoft hardware products like mice and keyboards have a lifetime warranty HOWEVER they don't support this for OEM purchases. Is this true?

seems like a good deal. I got the MS intellimouse optical 3.0 (slightly newer revision of this mouse) that came with my dell and it's really nice mouse. Only negative about it is the size of it. It's pretty large compared to most of the mouses i've used before and it takes some getting used to. But a solid performing mouse none the less.

After using the "bigger" Intellimouse Explorer, I will never go back to a small mouse again. The larger mouse just feels better.

never said it was bad in anyway, but takes some getting used to which can be bad for people who play games like counter-strike 🙂
but by one week's use, you'll probably not even realize it anymore.

Dell has the intellimouse explorer 3.0a for $29.99 shipped. Use the th 5% coupon at techbargains and ebates for the small business store. Its free shipping right now. Do a search for dell optical and order the $29.99 optical mouse for the optiplex system. It has a picture of the silver ms mouse. I just got mine yesterday. Pretty good deal..

have they improved the tracking with these? i have a microsoft optical wheel mouse (the cheaper one) and the tracking absolutely sucks. if you are playing a 3-d shooter with fast movement across the screen, the cursor tends to stay in one spot. i bought a logitech optical wheel mouse the other week and it's A LOT better. you can actually see the cursor move across the screen when you are making fast jumps side to side.

do you know anything else about this mouse? im really intrested in it, thanks for posting it.

from dell's site it says
DELL
Input Device; USB Optical Wheel Mouse, 4-button, Gray, for Dell Optiplex

now, the picture shows it as being the microsoft inteliimouse explorer (even says microsoft on it), but what version of it is it (confiremd), does it have the same tracking probelms, could/can i use it in a fps game, etc.

thanks

These mice are great! I have been using one since they came out. It finally died after long hours of gamin. I just called up Microsoft and they sent me a new one for free! Didn't have to send in the old one.

its oem. So no rebate. Its an intellimouse optical 3.0a, i recieved it yesterday from Dell. Great deal in my opinion. Newegg has the same mouse for $33 + shipping.. Didn't have time to test it yet.

hi thanks for your response. i found a 10% coupon for dell home & office, only probelm was that they don't have free shipping. went to the small biz site for dell and they have free shipping

only probelm i saw was that when i searched for 'dell optical' i got a few returns. one was this:

DELL
Input Device; USB 4-Button Optical Explorer Wheel Mouse, v3.0A, for Dell Dimension/Inspiron Systems
Input Devices In
stock $49.00

and the other is

DELL
Input Device; USB Optical Wheel Mouse, 4-button, Gray, for Dell Optiplex
Input Devices In
stock $29.00

so i dont know why it would be 20 dollars more, other than maybe the 29 is not a v3.0a version.

on another note, did yours include a usb -> ps2 adapter?

FYI, there is no "intellimouse optical 3.0a" .. the current version of the IntelliMouse Optical is 1.1, this revision contains the newer IntelliEye hardware that scans the desktop 6,000 times per second instead of the old one from the 1.0 IntelliMouse Optical that only scanned 1,500 times per second.

The IntelliMouse Explorer is up to version 3.0, but that's a different product.
