Hi all. I stopped by wal-fart tonight, took a stroll thru the electronics dept. and saw that they had the intellimouse explorer for $48.88. I'm not sure if such a hot deal, but eh, just thought i'd mention it for those who'd rather shop at b&m stores. You could also get it at b2bstores.com for $39 ($59-$25+$4 tax =|) Cheers!

Finally the price come down at B&M stores. I assuming the others will follow. I prefer to get this mouse at the local store instead going through all the rebates. Thanks for the info.

I saw the same mouse at Costco for 39.99 yesterday. Low Price Quarantee at office Depot:
69.99-39.99=$30 x 155% =$46.50

69.99-46.5 = 23.49!!!!

Intellimouse Optical is a little cheaper, is smaller and fits my hand more comfortably (and I have large hands). I just sold my Explorer and now use the Optical. Don't know about pricing and stock at B&Ms though.
The Intellimouse with IntelliEye is also great (if you don't need the browser forward/back buttons) and is the cheapest of the three; I use one at work on a black Belkin wide mousepad- the combo is great!

To "I'm Typing"

Was that the intellimouse optical or intellimouse explorer you saw at Costco? I just checked the website and they had the optical for $39 but the explorer was $59. If you saw the explorer in the store for $39, that would be a serious deal.

Anybody have problems with this mouse and the USB port on an MSI-6167 mobo (AMD chipset)? Damn thing wouldn't work in 98 even with Microscrews software "fix", and I flashed my bios so many times it must be colorblind by now, so I don't get it. The mouse would work if I plugged it in after startup, but upon restart graphics system went to hell and/or whole machine crashed. If anybody else has had this problem, could you send me an e-mail at timethrash@hotmail.com, please don't post. I just wanted to get some attention.

I have to agree with Senior Member. The MS Intellimouse Explorer is big for my hands and my hands are huge (I can palm a golfball). So ladies, I suggest you go with the MS IM Optical, it's smaller and feels better to the hands.

I purchased mine at Staples. Did a pricematch, got it down to $40 or so, then used a $25 off $50 (found on dealitup.com or techbargins.com). Free shipping of course.

Best of luck.

What is supposed to be the advantage of the Explorer over the Optical for the price to be so much higher? They both appear to have the same number of buttons but are positioned differently.

I thought B2BSTORES was no longer running the $25 off promotion.
