MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 & Mouse Accel

I just installed the intellimouse explorer 3.0 (new version) and was surprised to see no option for mouse acceleration. I'm using windows XP and had no problems with my logitech which did have that option. If anyone else has this mouse please check to see if you have this option for mouse acceleration. I want to know if I'm the only one that's not getting it!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can remedy this because mouse accel is a big part of my game play... thanks

For some strange reason, mouse acceleration using the Microsoft IntelliMouse drivers under Windows XP is gone.

Any other Windows, still has that option.

Mouse accel is totally different from pointer speed. It's where the faster you move your mouse the faster the pointer goes... except with a multiplyer... without out it it just moves at a 1:1 ratio. say if you move ur mouse 1 inch, doesn't matter how fast you move it, it'll move one inch on the screen. That's without acceleration. With acceleration say if you move it 1 inch at a normal speed it moves one inch on the screen, but if you move it one inch with ur hand 3x's the speed it'll move 3 inches even though you moved it one inch on ur mousepad.

Very crude example. many people don't like it for gaming but what i use it for is I play with low sensitivity... low sensitivity is great for precise aiming, but if I need to do a 180 real quick because someone's behind me, I don't have to drag my mouse like 3 times across the mousepad to turn myself about because I have acceleration on.

Oh well... guess I'll stick to my old opti logitech that randomly jerks the xhair down to the floor... =\
