I just found a site offering MS Flight Simulator 2000 (not Pro) for $29.90. A Manufacturer's MIR for $20US brings the cost down to $9.90 + shipping. Their site lists FedEx 2-Day at $4.99. Seems like a good price to me.

Ya...You will need that extra money to upgrade your computer. Unless you have a LOT of RAM and a good videocard this game isn't worth it. But being the flighsimer I am...i upgraded my comp and very happy with how FS2000 runs now.

I already own MSFS 2000 Pro. I bought it from etoys a few weeks ago during their 75% off sale. It runs very good on my machine (PIII 600, 256MB RAM).

Thought the deal was a good one though. Dalfallo's comments are well made but not everyone wants to spend $$$ to use a coupon. For $15 shipped, it's a good deal. By the way (off topic), what would you recommend for a joystick for use with MSFS? Don't want to spend more than $50 or so.

Is there a big different between the stnd and Pro?
I am considering buying it, I think my PC should qualify...
plus does it run on Win2K?
Thanks.

Just for anyone who is considering this, I just checked out the Microsoft FS2000 site, and this was the only rebate I could find... looks like it is for people who owned the prev. version of FS.

a few points...

as far as joystick goes you will do well with any lame joystick that will install under windows properly...but if you want to do it right, go to www.chproducts.com and get a flight yoke and pedals (they can bought elsewhere) and you will have a prety nifty simimulator setup...

cpumaster you rig aught to do fine...

the $20 rebate that everyone talks about is on the box itself...one of those peel off rebates.. it says that you need to use and original rebate...i see from both links that the rebates go to two different PO boxes, and two different promotion codes...i wonder if you can do both: one for the general rebate (copy of receipt and bar codes) and the other 'upgraders rebate' (copy f receipt and title page of the previous version)???now that would be a hot deal

I use the logitech wingman extreme digital. It was one of very few that had just the right feel. Plus you can handle views, flaps, elevator trim, and throttle with it. Very nice. I've had it a few years...it's probably pretty cheap now, it was only $40 when I got it at wal-mart.
