Is there any big differences from say FS 2000 - FS X? apart from graphics? are the plane cockpit models improved at all, i remember a company called PSS did 747-400 models, and they were amazing, you could load flight plans program the flight computer and every aspect of the autopilot worked, and even little touches like the no smoking/seatbelt signs, tail lights etc, the MS models were rubbish compared. How do they fare now?

More traffic. Better weather, a bit more realistic.

I'm an airline pilot, and that's my opinion on the two.

Better ground detail in FSX, VFR is actually possible now. Planes are nicer, better graphics, clouds arent the clunky 2d bitmaps that always face you no matter what.
Airport details are also improved.

Don't mean to hiJack, but is the difference between Flight SIM X regular and deluxe editions worth the extra $20

What kind of system do you have that you're able to play FSX without any problems? Would I need 2GB, highest C2D, 8800GTX in order to have a decent framerate?

My XP 3000+, 2GB RAM, X800XL AGP handles the demo reasonably well on I believe medium-high settings. I imagine if I got the full game and hit a city w/large buildings it would probably slow down quite a bit though.
I don't think I'll get the full version unless I can somehow get the game AND the CH Yoke & Pedals.

Good question i'd like to know too...

So basically FS X is just FS 2000 with better graphics... they should take note of those PSS addons they really were quite amazing...

My friends Pentium D 945, 2gb RAM and 7600GT can barely run the game on Medium Settings. However the visual upgrade from FS9-FS10 is abysmal and still requires MUCH MUCH more powerful hardware to run for the small jump. However the Multiplayer system is many times better than its predecessors.

BTW at the moment there arent many models made specifically for FSX but many of the FS9 models work for it.

Edit: The Deluxe edition comes with 30 something planes and the standard comes with 18. i think thats it.
