Hey..

in a cell for ms excel if i type in "COST PER HOUR" it all goes on one line. But I'd like them to be in two lines. In other apps I can [SHIFT] + [ENTER] to turn the line..
"COST PER HOUR" to
"COST PER
HOUR"

Thanks

One solution may be to just format the cell to wrap text. I know that Excel in Office 2000 has this option - I've used it many times. You also have to resize the row height.

Just right click on the cell and select "Format Cells". Somewhere in the dialog is a check box for word wrap.

No, the way to do this is to use the merge cell feature. You can select cells and choose merge which will make them into one. For example, choose the 2 cells above the columns you are labelling, merge those two, then text will appear as if it were one cell centered above the two columns.

oops, i totally misready your question, i guess word wrap was what you were asking for.

If you are looking to manually enter text, on multiple lines in a single cell (as opposed to letting the text wrap automatically) then I believe ALT+ENTER is what you're looking for.
