MS-Dos Compatibility Mode.....

Setting up an old PC for my grandmother to use for email, etc.

It's got a Cyrix 6x86 150+ processor (a real speed demon! )
Old Azza PT-51V 586 motherboard
Samsung 2gb Hardrive
Matrox Mystique 170 PCI video card
USR 33.6 Sportster winmodem
AWE 64 sound card
Afreey 52x CDROM

I installed Win98se on it and all the drives are reporting in MS-Dos compatibility mode. Does anyone know how/if I can fix this? Or is this just a limitation of the motherboard??

Run Regedit, do a search for NOIDE, delete any keys you find. Reboot and see if the message is gone...
