MS-DOS 6.22 negative memory.

Hey guys. I know that this is an old system, but we have to work with what we've got. One of our computers that runs AXS, a music and spot scheduling program, thinks that we have -32768K of memory.

The exact error is:

EMS v4.0 reports -32768k free, -32384k total, EMS memory

emm386 says that we have 32,768K. We have 65,536K, which might be where it gets the negative 32MB. Any ideas? I don't think it's using high memory, so it's performance is horrid.

It's a 200MHz Pentium MMX with a 720MB hard drive.

Thanks!

Hmm, perhaps EMS doesn't support more than 32MB of RAM? You could set up EMS with 32MB and XMS with 32MB, but only if your programs support that. Sorry I can't help more, it's been years since I've dealt with DOS much. 🙁

Heh, yeah, I'm out of practice too. I tried to get my boss to let me hook up our "new" Pentium 2 systems (with Windows 98), but he won't let me.

Thanks for the reply.
