MrBeast, fake?

JP has an interesting take on all this, which kind of surprises me. Basically he feels the allegations are a bit over the top, and the employees are entitled.

JP is pretty good, he's right most of the time. In general this world is so upside down, and few people actually call it out and see it as it is but he does, in a sarcastic way.

Right wing maybe. I don't know a lot about the guy but he seems to suffer from the same allergy to facts and science many magats do. He should stick to sarcasm and avoid the culture war stuff; carrying water for a cult might earn you clicks on YT, but it also tends to make you sound like a fearful, butthurt little bitch. One of those results will last longer than the other.

A right wing personality defending an insanely wealthy person. Now I've seen it all.

beast games, allegedly, they took competitor's underwear
It is more than a little disturbing to me, that people are emphasizing the underwear instead of the medications. Then again if you really need the meds, they should never leave your possession, while I could see leaving a change of clothing unguarded with the assumption nobody in their right mind would mess with it.

I take that back, in many of the bizarro contests, I could see someone not wanting their meds on them, submersed in water or jumping/falling/whatever, if we leap to the acceptance that at least some of that content in the videos was real, as I'm sure "some" of it was.

Mr. B is like a bubble within the youtube bubble. Impossible to sustain as presented, and obviously a fair % of fake that he gets away with because his target audience is at the age where their minds aren't fully developed yet.

Sad how this topic already degraded into personal attacks based on politics.

It used to be that people understood how to stay on topic.

LOL, are you fucking shitting me or what?
Are you aware of any other tech forum that allows this kind of trolling or personal attacks? Maybe the social media ones that I avoid...

I'm not, but possibly I just don't go looking for it? I'm on quite a lot of sites.

Wait. You know there's more on the internet than just ATOT, right? 😉

What does that have to do with your wildly inaccurate claim that "it used to be that people knew how to stay on topic?" which the astute observer might note is the portion that I bolded for emphasis, as that was the section of your comment I was replying to.

I'm not on any other tech forums, and TBH, IDGAF what other tech forums allow. Maybe if you don't like things here, you should stick to the other ones?

Also: you're off topic, fucko!

No it was also here. AT forums weren't always full of this and in most other forums, people do manage to stay on topic instead of being allowed to post just for the purpose of personal attacks.

It wasn't inaccurate.

If you're trying to state that you're basically ignorant of the rest of the world (not just tech forums), I'll accept that.

I've been here longer than you, and you're wrong.

LOL, okie dokie, I'll take any accusations of "ignorance" from you with a grain of salt the size of Jupiter.

Meh... 4 mos? Show us the politically motivated, personal attack troll posts. They don't have to be from 23 years ago, how about half that? They were rare.

I don't even see your point. If there was bad behavior 23 years ago, that would somehow excuse it today?

My point: you said "it used to be people knew how to stay on topic", which is not the case. People in ATOT have quite frequently gone off topic in threads. I won't be expending any effort to "prove" it, and I'm also not engaging with your whining about what you deem to be "troll posts" as that's not the point I'm engaging with. You can pretend I'm wrong if that makes you feel better, but I believe most posters who have been here for a while have personally witnessed many a-thread gone off topic.

So all you're really doing is nit-picking to try to distract from bad behavior? Seems like a waste, but whatever.

I guess if you want to call it that ̄\_(シ)_/ ̄
I'm not "nitpicking", I'm pointing out that part of your statement was factually wrong. I'm not trying to "distract" from anything, I just found it such a ridiculous statement that I responded to it.

^ It's nitpicking because you took it out of context and tried to suggest it in a more universal application, which is pointless as well, like you just want to argue for the sake of wasting time?

Most of the millions he make he puts back into making new content. And a lot of his content is giving cars, bags of money, and even houses to people in need. He thinks owning a lot of shit is stupid.

Well that's what he says at least. Who knows really we've all been fooled before.

Yep, pretty-much toast. (According to the video.)

Still has 311 million subscribers:

I have a feeling this will mostly blow over. While some of the allegations may have some merit I don't think anything is bad enough to actually destroy the channel. Like the allegations about it being a bad workplace environment or the fact that some stuff is staged, yeah, that kind of sucks to hear, but it's not exactly THAT surprising either.

Many years ago, rigged game shows on TV were a major scandal. 30 years ago they made a movie about it.

I don't know if Beast's game shows are serious, or more like some talk show game shows, some of which feel free to ignore the rules and nobody really cares.
