I really think the supposed controversy over this ad is stupid. I didn't think it was implied that the speedwalker was gay. And it's such a great ad! I'm glad Snickers is getting so much attention for the ad because of the stupid controversy.

That was actually a pretty funny spot and really, I don't see what is so offensive about it. Maybe I just have my massive Mr. T fan blinders on but it just seems like a huge stretch. Is every man that power walks automatically gay by association? To me it seems like the group who complained were the ones who were stereotyping. Now I gotta find that commercial he was talking about with the soccer players, sounds even funnier.

It's on Youtube.

The only part that I think could be construed as indicating that the speedwalker is gay was when he said he's a disgrace to the man race. But I don't agree with that; there are a lot of heterosexual males who are a disgrace to the man race. Ben Affleck, Dustin Diamond, Rosie O'Donnell, Chris Kattan...

I see what you did there. I agree though, there are men who aren't gay and aren't manly, and it shouldn't be taken as offensive by the gay community.

Both of those commercials rocked. It sucks that somebody, somewhere has to get their feelings hurt about everything. I'm tellin ya, these people better pray I never become the head of any organization which may offend these oversensitive whinebags because when the threat of a boycott comes along, I'll tell them to shit in their hat. Someone has to sooner or later because backing down from this is pussifying the world.
