Whenever me or my family members gets called upon for jury duty we just write on the slip "no speeko english" and they tend to never send us any more of their letters.

Nope. Jury duty applies to US citizens, in order to become a US citizen one needs to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the language and US history or produce a doctor's note that their ability to learn is impaired.

While many may master English enough to get by the citizenship test but not enough to be a reliable juror, authorities never let it slip by that easy. One needs to do a very convincing job either over the phone or in person to talk (or nod) their way out of jury duty.

I go to jury duty but I am always dismissed. Normally because I state my opinion on a lot of things so they tend to pass on me. I am a firm believer of jury nullification where valid and I think that makes some lawyers nervous and dismissive.

Then again my last jury run I had to roll my eyes. It was a criminal sexual assault of a child. No other information was given. Every single guy was mysteriously dismissed and seemed like the majority of the jurors with daughters were called. Talk about stacking the deck....

F jury duty. If they want me to go they can pay me my daily salary.

your employer should.

I have been on jury too much.

I show up and in the past they asked if anyone has a job or somewhere they need to be.

Today, you are there 8 hours. They give you decent movies though.

Last time I was asked to walk up to a courtroom with 10+ others, 3 times.

The cases ended prior to jury selection but I was not free to go.
