So, how SHOULD you wash a car Mr. Professional Detailer?

with a soft gentle detergent made for cars (FFS NOT DAWN) followed up with some polish and then a coat of pure brazillian carnuba wax..but it really depends on the car and what methods techniques and products you use....

well assuming you cannot get industrial stuff....

what color is your car? how old? how often and last time it has been waxed? any oxidation or rust?

also put your hand in a plastic sandwich bag and run your hand over your cars hood...does it feel like a chalk board?

What's your opinion of the "All in One" car wash soap with carnuba wax beads in it?

comeplete gimic...you cannot wax your car by washing it...it must be buffed into the paint...you can do it by hand of course but thats why buffers/polishers over 10,000 RPM's work so well..they actually warm up the paint coating and work it into it...of course you just have to make sure you do not burn off the paint and need practice

The Auto-dry thing is crap. There's a "new" version of it that's supposed to be better, but it's more expensive.

When I used it on my truck, there was a haze on the entire car that didn't come off. It sucked on the glass, because it made it nearly impossible to clean for a while and it streaked badly when it'd rain or get muddy.

Used it once and threw it away. Don't waste the money.

I put my hand in a plastic bag and ran it over the hood. It did feel rough and grainy.

Best car polish I've used is the Turtle wax high gloss. The one that comes in a green bottle with a grey cap. It really doesnt leave residue like the other polishes and really shines.

You might want to look into claying your car...sorry I do not have much time now otherwise I would explain...(or wax it twice, once with a cleaner wax (tutrle wax's is fine) then one for a good nice shiny coat)

but I would polish it with mequiar's color X polish...it'll bring your black back....then Meguiar's gold glass wax for the finish...will you be putting it on by hand or machine?

if by hand thin it out with some rubbing alchohol or it'll be a biatch to remove

Who uses a towel?? Chamois are the only way to go for drying.
