Mplayer and .ogm files

well, i finally got an old PC up and running (athlon 700, 32MB vidram, 640 mb SD-Ram)

and i tried to watch a video (.ogm format) but well, its just skipping frames. soundtrack is fine, plays distortion free. the video is on my local drive, not the external, so that shouldn't be the problem...AVIs, MPG, and even some DiVX play fine. is my PC just too old?

edit: should also mention that i occasionally suffer system crashes when attempting to play video files. (1/5 timews-ish)

You can try VLC as well. If that doesn't work GOM is another media player you can use.

Also, I've learned codecs make a huge difference if you get the right ones. Took me forever to get the right ones on Vista.
