The reason I'm asking is there aren't really any benchmarks out there (that I've seen) that compare different clock speed processors of the same brand. Only thorough comparisons I've seen have been between P4 and Thunderbird.
Anyway, I'm looking into possibly upgrading my T-bird 800 @ 900 to a T-bird that a friend of mine has, a 1 giger that will do about 1250-1300. Rigth now a normal-size movie takes about 4 hours to encode with FlaskMPEG, and it would be pretty nice to cut an hour from that. But the thing is: is MPEG encoding so CPU dependent that I'll see most of this MHz upgrade, or will there be other bottleneck? Only using standard PC133, for example? Has anyone compared the CPU scalability of FlaskMPEG for T-bird processors?
