vlc actually runs on computers that I use.

Edit: oh, and it also does nice things like allowing you to watch dvds from other regions :thumbsup:

Of the two, I'd choose VLC since it actually runs on Linux. But I prefer mplayer to VLC most of the time.

I seem to run into codec issues with mpc all the time, but not so with VLC

VLC is a great player. I like that it allows me to select different audio steams, turn on/off captioning (if available), and it has alot of other options which mplayer doesn't have. It has a small footprint and codecs seem to integrate well with it. I use it for everything except DVDs, .MOV and .RA files.

It's a definite :thumbsup:

I downloaded VLC, it seems like it has more features than MPC. But for now, it'll be my backup player.
