Well I can't say much about the sleek but I do have a micro as well as an ipod nano and a 30GB ipod video.

Both ipods are significantly better than the creative, which has proven to be unstable and constantly in need of firmware replacement.

The ipod interface is also much quicker and more intuitive as well.
Sound quality on the creative is also poor compared to the ipods.

Ain't that the truth. 4 or 5 steps to accomplish what iTunes can do in 1 or 2.

I can vouch for the Ipod, i own a 4g 20gb and its been going strong for a year and a half now, battery life is decent, 12 hours max. Current 5g's and the nano get 18 hours i believe. I also have the 1gb shuffle, fantastic for the gym.

Theres a reason Ipods are so popular, and that reason is theyre the best :)

Ipod's really are the best IMO. Followed closely by Creative MP3 players.

I just bought a Ipod Video. Got about half way through Fight Club on a whole battery charge. Battery life sucks on these things, but they are really for just on the go, and its so worth it.

I had a Creative Zen Micro a year ago or so. I didnt think the software was half bad. Really easy just to insert CD's and find which CD it corresponded to and add the titles and everything.

Out of all of Creatives MP3 players out now, I would get the Vision M.

the ipods are great i dont personally own one because im a sony guy (due to the sound quality) but if your going for a moderate sound quality and long life plus a near invisible casing then ipod is the way to go. if you want quality and pretty good battery life in some cases better depending on volume then just about any sony will be better. they have way more powerfull sound processors and the ipod is stricly mp3 where as sony does windows media player and mp3 with ease. also really like the sony software sonicstage organizes way better than itunes.

nv. anyway, ipod's are better. i have a 2G 4GB iPod mini and love it. as long as you take good care of the battery (that is, properly discharging and charging it) it'll stay strong. the creative's also have bad software. anyway, if you're getting the ipod video, this is an interesting addon i found: the iLuv. this is not cheap ($85) but it increases the battery life by 42 hours plus it's a case.

What's more important to you? Physical size, capacity, battery life, video?

If you want a small physical size with decent battery life, the iPod nano is probably the best choice.

I don't see why people want 60GB MP3 players for music. Can you honestly say that there are 15,000 songs that you like?! I can easily fit EVERY song i like on my 6GB iPod mini (2nd gen).

You didn't ask this, but I have a Rio Carbon 5GB. It only cost me around $130 and I have not had any problems with it at all.

in my opinion, the X5L is really the most feature-packed player in this category. Better battery life, more codecs, better sound, the list goes on and on and it overall is a well-rounded, excellent player. However, I wouldn't say that the iPod is bad at all just for the average joe to listen to music. I suggest you get that, I am an owner of the 20gb X5L and a 30GB A2. The only thing some people have complained about is no ID3 browsing(yet), some issues with yahoo! music unlimited, and no gapless playback.
