I second the recommendation for dBpowerAMP. Although, it would be better if you created them from a CD to WMA, not from MP3 (or any other lossy format) to WMA.
I know it's popular to bash Microsoft around here, but WMA is infinitely better than MP3 at 64kbps for stereo music, which is why it's a good choice for cell phones with limited storage. This is coming from a Hydrogenaudio member who uses Lame MP3 (with EAC) at high variable bitrates (~192 to ~210 kbps) as my main music encoding format for PC and iPod listening. Lame MP3 VBR is better than WMA at >=128kbps, but at 64kbps WMA kicks ass.
