mp3 tagging freeware

No doubt this has been asked before but times change and what was the best software yesterday (The Godfather?) may not be today. I need to do a serious update of my mp3 library and the manual method has become too painful. My mp3's are already sorted into folders by album and named by title and track number; what I need to do is clean up and add album art and it would be nice to get lyrics as well. Here's what my ideal software would do:

1) quickly pull in my entire library and show me what the tags already contain in an easy-to-read at a glance format.
2) with a minimum of user input, find album art for any file/group of files I specify, let me select which art I want to use (if there is some question or more than one option), and insert the art into the mp3 tag.
3) ditto for song lyrics if possible.
4) if possible, for compilations (ie, a friend burned me his favorite play list), help me find the original track title/album/artist, and fill in all the correct tag info (including album art).

Of course, I'd like this all for free ... or really cheap anyway!

Suggestions?

mp3tag is pretty good - i like how it gives me lots of options for the album art. however it seems like they could eliminate a few clicks - rather than selecting the song/songs, clicking "find album art", then selecting one of the choices, clicking "preview", then waiting for the preview, then closing it, then clicking "next", then "apply", once i pick the songs, the app could automatically bring up the 1st choice for album art if the song/s don't already have any, and all i have to do is 1 click to accept.

any other options out there that do something like what i just suggested?
