I wanna set up a MP3 Server where I work but only want to do it internally. Is there software that will let me do that or is it all internet based software?
If people run their own copy of WinAmp, Foobar, etc then all you need is a shared hard drive on the network (read-only of course). Even Win95 can do this, though NT/2K/XP Pro -or- linux would do a better job under load.Originally posted by: teckmaster

the only songs that will be available are songs that I or the teachers have cd's to prove from.

RIAA may still sue over that. You don't have the right to share those songs, even if you own the CD's. Nothing may ever happen, but, it could get you in trouble too. Be careful.

Nobody is gonna sue you, just do what you want internally.

I read an article about a year ago regarding internal network music shares. A company settled for about 100K if memory serves for sharing MP3's over the internal network.
