MP3 Ripping / Car Receiver / EZ CD Creator

Hello,

I recently bought a car receiver that plays CD-MP3s (Kenwood 7019). However, I started noticing that after taking my cds, ripping them to mp3s, and then burning them with EZ CD in sub-folders, the tracks do not play in the right order in my car. I realize that not only does my MP3 receiver not read folders in MP3-CDs correctly, but EZ CD Creator is not putting the tracks 1-10 in the correct order in the folder. They also don't give you an option to change the track order for MP3s. The only reason that the order plays correctly on winamp is because I created a playlist for the songs, other wise EZ CD is incorrectly putting the track #s in each folder. Does anyone no what I can do?

I also wonder if it is the way that my CD ripper labels tracks numbers as "1, 2, 3" rather than "01, 02, 03" because one of the main problems is that track "10-19" is put right after track "1".

to fix your mp3's, you need to name them w/ 01, because they'll never be in the right order.
unless you add songs to the CD 1 by 1 (ugh)
also, I'd suggest using Nero instead of EZ CD creator.

yeh... that sounds like the solution except I can't figure how to change that setting, or if i can change that setting ("1" to "01") on the ripper i am using CDex.

also, when i try adding each file one by one on EZ CD, it does not list in the right order, it'll use it's own random order. even if it looks like it is in the right order on EZ CD, it is put in the wrong order after I burn it (especially if there is a folder involved)

i tried using Nero, and renamed the files to "910" instead of "10" which puts it behind track "9" that seems to be my only solution.

thanks

Q: I like to create file names that have track number with a leading zero (so 01 02 03 etc in stead of 1 2 3 )
A: Use the %7 option in the Build File Name string in stead of the %3 option. The %7 tag will be replaced with the track number, including a leading zero for single digit number (i.e. track 1..9) when creating the file name

EZCD5 works flawlessly for making mp3 CD albums for the car.

Just rename the file 01, 02 etc before the band or album name.

Then record the disk - never had any problem with it on my JVC KD-SH99

Actually - I just re-read your post

I have not noticed that the individual tracks do not play in order - I was only referring to renaming individual subfolders using the number process.

The songs should all be automatically numbered. Perhaps I should check that this is ACTUALLY the case - not that I;m worried about the order as such in general.
