I don't know if this is available now, I'm still using Winamp 2.80 and I haven't been keeping up with plugins, new features, Windows media player, etc. But what I would really love to see is something that will open up the lyrics of whatever song is playing. However it should be within the mp3 player, not an IE window, so as not to disturb me while i'm surfing my sites. It could search Google, or a lyrics website(s) for the words and would then strip off banner ads and other nonsense. For songs that cannot be found, it should allow me to specify the lyrics manually (from a txt file or something). And then it should allow me to export these settings so I wouldn't have to do it all over again if i reinstall windows.

Does anything like this exist?

And then Winamp would quickly stop being free.
Maintaining a lyrics database like that is NOT easy/cheap.
Lyrics are not written on a set format through google.

I'd like to see a little head act like he's speaking the words too. Or maybe a really big head like Max Headroom. That little paperclip in Word would be OK too.

There is a plugin that does just that (opens in the minibrowser). Lemme look around to see if I can find it.

I might pay for a feature like that.

I see what you're saying, it would not be easy to obtain the lyrics, so the program would have to be 'intelligent.'

Hereis the one I used.

EDIT: hmm...that may not be the one I used. Tell me if it does what you want...I thought that was what it was called, but this looks more like one to enter your own lyrics (although it says that it supports "lyrics sharing"). I can't check it because I don't have winamp at work.

Awesome, I will try taht one... If you search for the "lyrics" over there, there are a few of these types of plugins!

Just a thought, why don't ID3 tags have a field for the song lyrics?

You mean something like subtitles and a little white ball that bounces around so you can sing along?

ID3v2 and Lyrics3 do. Just no one uses them.
