MP3 Player recommendation?

keeping it simple.

MP3 player that has large capacity but also works well for taking it to the GYM.
I would like the IPOD or similar device but won't the running and moving around cause an issue?

Whatever RIO is $139 and designed for the sportster in mind. Flash is so cheap now you can have a 1 gig player for next to nothing.

I had the rio fuse for nearly a year before it went missing and the sp35 for the last 6 months. Both were very, very good and had enough selection to keep me entertained w/o having to change music for months.

I have a RIO S10 now with 64mb anything out that already comes with lets say at least already 1 gig built in?

The most durable players are flash players because they have no moving parts.
But, they are quite expensive.
I have the IRiver IHP-795 (512mb) and it was 200 bucks.
It was worth it, though. The features are great, the audio is great, and its durable.
Also, 40 hours on a SINGLE AA is awesome. 😀

If you want something good for running, the IHP-7xx is perfect.
Durability + Battery life = 1337 🙂

I had an iPod before I sold it and I ran around playing football with it for a day and nothing happened. It was perfect. 😀

yeah my main goal would be a Player that i can take to the gym and not worry about but also lots of space because lately i'm travelling a lot.

something to keep me entertained for lets say 5-6 hours on a plane.
then like i said use it at the gym.

i'm going to go check out the ipods today at the Apple store.

ive got a first rev ipod, and its absolutely perfect. ive never had it skip, ever, and ive done a hell of a lot with it in the years that ive had it. theres no choice here: buy an ipod.

i have an old 5 gig ipod, and never a problem frombiking to running to the gym. It won't skip cause it has a 32mb buffer, maybe even bigger in the 4th gen, i dunno, but it loads several songs intot he buffer so skipping isn't an issue.

Beware the larger capacity iPods (I think it's the 40GB ones)... they're likely not gym friendly. I'm speaking from 1st hand experience. From all accounts you should be fine with 20GB or below.

well for now i got myself a 256 SD card for my Rio S10, if i put the songs in WMA format i should be fine for my trips for now.

come X-mas i might consider that new Ipod with pictures also on it. I just checked it out yesterday at the apple store. its sligtly bigger than the regular ones but it can also help me dump my pictures from my digital camera into it while on the road.

also person i know works at the apple store hopefully i could get a discount.

You can get an iRiver hdd based player.Don't know about how it holds up to lots of moving around but I think it's better the an ipod. The irivers have built in fm tuners and are a little bit cheaper
some places.
