I've been using dbpoweramp to convert to MP3 / Wav, but its' plugin for tagging requires a subscription.

Please recommend freeware / shareware tagging software or ripping/tagging software that is spy/ad ware free.

Try the search or look in the freeware post that is stickied at the top of this very forum. This question has been answered many times already.

BTW, why are there 4 threads on mp3 id tags recently ? This is such a small deal.
 
I personlly posted for the following reasons:

1. I just cleaned my system and don't want to install something that is going to cause problems.

2. I trust the opinions of the posters in these forums.

3. It's been years since I last ripped and tagged music.

4. Finally have some free time to rip/tag/and try out my new MP3 player.

Downloaded The Godfather and installing now 😉
