MP3 Editor

Hi,

I'm looking for an mp3 editor software. Currently I would like to get some info on free software and also not free software (don't mind the cost).

What I want to do is to grab an mp3 file, and crop a part of it to another mp3 file, or even join different mp3 files to one.

What free software there is that can do a good job?

What professional payed software is there to edit audio?

Thanks

I asked that here. Seems Audacity has to decode/re-encode.

I ended up using MP3 Direct Cut. I'm not crazy about the interface workings, but it worked. So did MP3 Splitter and Joiner. Guess I liked MP3 DC better, though maybe something better will come along.
