MP3 Editor?

I'd like to cut out a section of an mp3, and have it as its own file.

I'd like to make a ring tone out of it, but right now its too long, too big, and has alot of stuff I don't want, but has one section that is just about perfect. So, I'm Looking to find a way to yank that particular section and make it its own mp3.

just about any sound editor will do the trick....

i prefer cool edit or gold wave.
