I personally would get the Ipod nano (planning to for x-mas anyway)

Mainly because I have been using iTunes since version 1 came out. Back in the day it was the best free mp3 player for my old powerMac websurfing box and I always kinda liked it once I had figured out how to make it do what I wanted and not what it thought was best. Besides I have a few ITMS songs which I always have to transcode when I want to load up my Philips MP3 player.

Hmm, "better interface", thats subjective, "better software", thats just wrong, don't tell me Zen Explorer or whatever Creative calls their CPU cycle whore beats iTunes. FM Tuner, Recorder, don't care. Cheaper, yeah, but its 3 times as thick. More space, well, you got me there, and better SQ, you're right.

There's a product for everyone these days, buy what you want. I wouldn't get the Nano to "view pictures". I don't want to view pictures on a 1.5" screen, its a gimmick. I'd get it cause its thin, and its a 4 GB flash player for 240 after tax and shipping (student discount heck yeah).

ok ill ask you this, WHY do you think that the nomad explorer software is so bad, when i ran it on a 2400+m @ 2.4GHZ it ate little to no CPU time and less then 20megs of ram, transfering files over USB2 used the CPU but that will no matter what software you use cause USB2 does that, and it never spiked over 50% nor caused an issue

and you coudl use teh NOTmad program which is similar to ephpod for the ipod

No... ITS AN ACTUAL FLASH DRIVE from seagate.

then it's a close call. i voted nano for its small size and color screen. and if you decide that you want to sell it, the nano will fetch you more on ebay.

Wow lol... ROFL...
When muvo2 fm first came out.
It was a flash drive.
and many people would break it open and take the 5 GB drive and stick it in their digital cameras.

Revised?.

Because, it installs 3 other Creative apps I don't need, MediaSource and all that other crap, and Zen Explorer locks up like mad on my nForce2 rig, not to mention it takes a LONG ass time to notice a Zen Touch is plugged in.

id say you got other issues there then, cause you only need to install the explorer, and you can uninstall mediasource even after you install it and explorer works fine

and on my comp it was regnoized instantly as well as on my brothers comp and my sisters lappy

Prepare for impending ownage, retard.

Now, notice how MicroDrive is highlighted so many times? A MicroDrive is a 1" Hard Drive in Compact Flash FORM FACTOR it is NOT Compact Flash
End yourself.

Better Software? I hope you are being sarcastic.

iTunes is the best music manager out there.

Edit: OP - Get the Nano.

you are fvcking on crack, itunes is not the best at anything

organizing your music in folders Like This and the ability to drag and drop >>>>> ANY PROGRAM could ever be

i used to own a creative player and the software you use to transfer files couldent be easier to use, - find - select - transfer, takes like 3 seconds, and that all you had to install or ever use,

Yes, this method is better because it's ACTUALLY organized. The iTunes software encourages people to be disorganized, storing all their MP3s all over the drive is a very BAD idea.

Of course they do not, not if there is a HARD DRIVE with moving parts inside of them... thats the whole point about flash drives, no moving parts!

it's a mini hard drive with spinning parts categorized as a flash interface device. it'll still break easily as a hard drive.
