That's a tough track to tell on. I think "A" sounds better but it's VERY close. Like everyone else says, it depends on the track.

I can't tell the difference using an Aureal Vortex2 and Sony MDR-EX71 earbuds. As other have said, the track doesn't have enough going on to really make a big difference.

I have to be honest. I can't tell. This is with low end headphones, but still the differences are slight, if any. I really cannot tell at all. The song sounds nifty 🙂 BtW good poll.

B sounds like its higher quality.

The cymbals sound a tiny bit more defined, and the drums have a little more punch to em.

way to go resurrecting an old flame

i assume the music is less shitty this time? (no audio from thic PC)

There's so little going on in the song itself that the 128kbit/s seems to be enough, therefore hardly noticeable differences.

This song is far too quiet/simple for me to be able to tell.

Try the same with a hard rock/metal song. IMO the guitar and vocals are much more harsh at 128 than 320, and the bass is cleaner at 320. When you're blasting MP3s in your car, it's pretty easy to tell.

B just seems a little brighter.

Sure makes you wonder how on earth some people can tell the difference between --alt-preset standard and --alt-preset extreme 😛

/rips to -ape for no real reason

Edit: heh, right. I swear I posted this before I saw your update. Great thread, well done 😛
